Those of you who know me, know that I'm fairly plain. When I leave the house, I'm usually in jeans and a hoodie with my hair thrown up into a ponytail. If I miraculously have a chance to go out on the weekend, I'll try to dress up some and throw on some make-up that I grabbed from the dollar store. I've just never been girly, or taken the time to know what kind of makeup I need. Maybe it's just because I've never had the right types of makeup for me.
I want to introduce you to an awesome subscription box service, Wantable.com. They offer several different boxes: Makeup, Accessories, and Intimates. They even have a limited edition Holiday makeup box! I was given the chance to review one of their Makeup boxes, and the process is really neat.
First, they give you a style quiz where you answer questions about what kind of products you like. Love/like/hate actually. Each category has a sliding bar for you to let them know whether or not you love a certain type of product (eyeliner, brow liner, bronzer, etc.) and then it gets more in depth, letting you choose colors you like, what kind of foundations you like (power, matte, liquid, etc.)
I love that they base what they send you on what you will actually like instead of just throwing the same things into every box. Each box contains 4 to 5 full-sized premium makeup products, "hand-picked to perfectly match your preferences." I was so excited when my Wantable box showed up; I knew that I would love whatever was inside.
I wasn't disappointed. They got it spot-on, down to my favorite color of green for the nail polish they sent. Here's a picture of what was inside my box:
In my box, there was:
- a tube of Reserves Grape Seed Age Protecting Moisturizing Lipstick - valued at $25
- Pomegranate Nail Lacquer - valued at $4
- Peepers by Darla Eyeshadow - valued at $18
- Japonesque Professional Angled Foundation Brush - valued at $25
- a cute Owl Nail File Emery Board - valued at about $1
Approximately $75 worth of makeup in my Wantable box! They offer one time purchases for $40, or a monthly subscription for $36 - definitely a great deal!
