When I had my son, we had a special bond that I didn't think could ever be topped. Then I had my baby girl, and even though she has her "terrible two" moments, the bond we have is completely different and so special.
Kaya has a very different personality than Sammy did. Where he's sweet and snuggly, Kaya is opinionated and very matter-of-factual. She's always challenging me and keeps me on my toes all the time. Her humor, though... She cracks me up constantly and we're always being silly.
When the other kids go off to school and Matt goes to work, it's Kaya and me together for the rest of the day. There's trying moments, sure, like when she decides to dump her cereal on the floor or when she throws a fit in the middle of the store. In between those, though, are silly sweet Mommy Daughter moments that I know will last a lifetime.
My favorite way to spend time with my baby girl is in the kitchen. I joke about how she's going to grow up to be a famous chef, but the reality of it is she probably will. She's a little foodie already, tasting everything and deciding what she wants to help make. The sweetest moments we have so far are teaching her how to bake and letting her help me measure and pour ingredients. I love having a little baby protégé in the kitchen with me!
Aside from kitchen time, I love when we go on walks. We'll pack up our Disney Baby Minnie Mouse Diaper Bag with some snacks, sunscreen, and some bubbles and head outside for some Mommy/Daughter time. We'll spend the morning looking at flowers and talking about all the things she sees - she's a little sponge and picks up so many things when we are just playing.
