What to Buy the Man Who Has Everything

Some men are tough to buy for. Of course, you can always purchase the man in your life the socks and boxers like every other year. However, you don’t want to risk buying him the same sort of gifts as his mother does. If it’s a present birthday, Christmas or just a little happy-happy, then you might find you’re a little stuck for original ideas. But don’t worry quite yet. Hold yourself back from buying yet another dressing gown!

Have a think about his interests. Is he sports mad? Does he love golf? Fishing? Or does he have less physical hobbies? Does he like music? Does he play an instrument? What does he do in his spare time? If you take the time to look at what he’s into, then you’ll find there are a world of possibilities you’ve probably never given a thought to before!

If he’s forever got a cup of joe in his hand and can’t get through the day without his daily dose of caffeine, there are a whole load of gifts you can get him. If you’re on budget and trying to watch your cash flow, something as simple as a special cup or mug is a thoughtful present. If he’s prone to leaving used cups in his car (we all know one), then a travel mug could be ideal. If you’re splashing the cash, a home barista espresso machine is the ultimate. Forget all those devices that take capsules or pods. Just like smaller versions of what you see in cafes, espresso makers are the real deal for any true coffee aficionado.

This is where it gets complicated. It depends on what kind of geek we’re talking about. There are so many crossovers. For any guy who is into gaming, computers or any sort of tech, (and is of a certain age), a retro gaming console is a spot-on surprise. If you don’t think that’s his bag, you can never go too far wrong with anything Star Wars related. Still no? Try the latest game he hasn’t got yet, or if you’re feeling flush, a brand new shiny console. He’ll love you forever.

For the collector

Again, this one’s complicated. But if you’re close enough that you’re thinking this hard about buying him a gift, then you probably know him pretty well. Comics, vinyl, replica railways or model tractors, everyone, has a passion. Just some are more obsessive about it than others. If you still don’t have a clue, get him vouchers for his favourite store. You know the one he spends hours perusing? Yup, there.

Tickets to see a favorite band are always a fantastic present. If he plays the guitar, what about an effects pedal or new instrument. Drummer? He’ll love a cajon. For lovers of music, you’ll find CD’s are still appreciated. But if he’s all about the downloads then you’re better off with iTunes vouchers. Has he got a vinyl collection hidden away in the loft but no record player? You can buy reasonably priced funky little turntables that will help him take a trip down memory lane!
