Review of Martin Chitwood's The Influence of the English Common Law on the Law of the Commonwealth of West Africa

I know I don't often write book reviews, but I was offered compensation to share with my readers this new book by Martin Chitwood, The Influence of The English Common Law on the Law of Commonwealth West Africa.  I know that it doesn't really fit into my normal parenting topics and reviews, but after browsing through it for a couple of minutes I realized that it's an interesting read.

Well written with incredibly detailed research, The Influence of the English Common Law on the Law of Commonwealth West Africa shows how British subjects shaped the laws of a newly partitioned West Africa through common laws of England. Martin Chitwood's book is a great resource for those delving into the history of legal systems for West Africa, as well as anyone wanting to learn how any legal system can be changed through incoming influences.

Martin Chitwood, Partner at Chitwood Harley Harnes LLP, has served as lead or co-lead counsel in more than 40 class actions nationwide and has been instrumental in recovering billions of dollars for investors and other class members.  He’s considered the plaintiffs’ lawyer in the state of Georgia.  He has also been recognized as a Georgia “Super Lawyer” by Law and Politics each year since the inception of the award.
