If You Like It, Then You Better Put a Label On It! {Label Land Review}

A special thanks to Label Land for providing samples in exchange for this review.

My three year old came home from daycare wearing another kid's pants.  This was about a year ago, when he was still not fully potty trained, and he had an accident.  The teacher helped clean him up, and then grabbed his extra clothes from his cubby.  Only, they weren't his pants.  At the end of the day, I looked for some sort of name in the pants so we could return them to the rightful owner, but there wasn't one.

Maybe I'm just an over-thinking mom, but I think having your little one's name on spare clothes, backpacks, shoes, etc. is a great way to help keep up with everything.  Kids are going to lose their stuff.  To be completely honest, even I lose their stuff sometimes.  Knowing that there might be a way to have lost items returned to your little one makes things a little easier.

That's why I agreed to work with Label Land for a review.  They provided me with waterproof labels, iron-on labels, and these pretty awesome "Stick-n-Wear" clothing name labels, free of charge in exchange for this review.

Of course, the first ones I had to try out were the waterproof labels.

I always send a sippy cup to daycare with my one year old, and they generally use a piece of masking tape to write her name and the date.  Great way of making sure each child has the right cup, but have you ever left a piece of tape on a plastic cup and then ran it through the dishwasher?  That is one sticky, goopy mess that doesn't want to come off afterwards. I loved these because they stayed on the cups through the dishwasher, and didn't fade!  There isn't a place for a date on these, which would have made them perfect for daycare, but I can still see them being great for plastic lunchboxes, Tupperware, and even raincoats!

I love that you can pick an icon for them, and show off your little one's personality.

Next was the Stick-n-Wear labels.  To use these, you just peel them off of the backing paper and place on any care tag.  I put one in the three year old's shoes, his jacket... even his Cars hat that he insists on wearing everywhere.  These ones are a little thinner than the waterproof labels, so I had to be careful not to let the corners roll.  They're small enough to fit on most care tags, and they stuck fast.  I've washed clothes with these labels on the tag, and they're still on there.  So yet again, I'm impressed.

Last are the famous iron-on labels.  Now these ones I had to read the directions for.  I had to heat up the iron on the highest setting without steam, put a thin cloth between the iron and the label, and press the iron down for 15-20 seconds.  Apparently, you're not supposed to move the iron around while doing this part.  I skipped that line for the first one, and it didn't stick very well.  The next one I tried worked great though!  I love that the iron-on labels have rounded edges so the corners won't peel up, especially since my little guy likes to pick at things.  You can also sew these ones on if you're so inclined, but I'm not that handy with a sewing machine (or needle for that matter) so I was happy ironing them on.  Again, they passed the washing machine test.

Label Land is a company dedicated to reducing parental stress, and began as a young couple with five children realized how much time they were spending trying to track down lost items.  They wanted offer parents the option of easy, practical and affordable labels, and have grown to selling several million labels each year.

Don't just take my word for it!  Check them out for yourself at Label-Land.com.  They're offering 10% off any order of $25 or more with the code LOYAL10!
