I love when I come across companies with a mission for good. You know what I mean, the kind of people who are actually trying to save the world.
Seventh Generation is one of those companies.
Their mission?
"To Inspire a consumer revolution that nurtures the health of the next seven generations."
Ok, so what does that mean? Seventh Generation is a company that doesn't just want to sell products to make a profit - They want to inspire us, as consumers, to choose more natural and eco-friendly products not only for our benefit, but for the generations after us. Our kids, our grandkids, our great-grandchildren... They all need a healthy planet to live on, and this is a company that is doing what they can, and then some, to make that possible.
This is a company who holds certifications in several programs to make sure that not only their products are more environmentally conscious, including the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program and the USDA BioPreferred® program. Seventh Generation is also a "Cruelty Free" company, containing no animal-based ingredients and they do not test on animals. Sustainability is their goal, and their products are meant to help us achieve a more eco-friendly lifestyle.
So what do they make? Funny you should ask, because it's more like what don't they make. Their plant-based products "get the job done, without the iffy stuff." From bathroom tissue to hand soap, laundry detergent to tampons - they've got most household necessities covered.
Check out their diapers:
To reduce the amount of chemicals used in the Seventh Generation diapers, they have concocted a core of wood pulp, corn, and wheat derived materials that is super absorbent. Chlorine-free, without inks or fragrances - these diapers are only a small step away from cloth diapers.
