I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Urbini. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and as a thank you for participating.
My family is always on the go. It seems like there's always something to do, somewhere to go. But on those occasions where we are able to spend family time together, there is nothing better than taking a stroll in the park. To accomplish this, without breaking my back now that my baby girl is getting too heavy for her carrier, we definitely needed a baby stroller.
Thankfully, we were introduced to one of the best travel systems that I think I've ever used - the Urbini Touri Travel System.
The stroller itself is lightweight and folds up into an extremely easy to carry umbrella-style fold.
I loved that the stroller has a handle on the side so you can tote it around with just one arm, leaving that other arm free for the baby you have to carry on your hip.
The features of the Urbini Touri Travel System include:
• Ultra-compact umbrella style fold
• Includes Petal Infant Car Seat that holds children up to 35 lbs
• Lightweight frame
• Multi-position reclining seat
• Removable child's arm bar
• 5-point safety harness with comfort pads
• Tuck-away sun visor
• Removable cup holder
• Multi-position reclining seat
• Roomy storage basket
• Front suspension wheels
Installing the Petal car seat base into my car was really easy, and didn't move once it was buckled in securely. The Urbini Petal Car Seat is
• Designed for rear-facing use only, for an infant from 4-35 lbs and up to 32" tall
• Rigorously crash and side-impact tested
• Deep sidewalls lined with an extended layer of energy-absorbing foam
• Meets and/or exceeds U.S. Standard FMVSS213
• Includes body support and removable preemie insert
• 2-position base recline foot and level indicator to help confirm that the car seat is installed at the correct level
• Easy to use, built-in lock off helps secure a tight installation of the car seat base to the car
• Super lightweight design, weighs less then 8 lbs
The idea of clicking the seat to the base was fairly simple as well, but I had trouble getting it secure and it took a couple of tries.
Unfortunately, my 14 pound baby girl was a little too big for this car seat. I adjusted all of the straps to the highest settings, but they still didn't seem to fit her quite right. In the picture below, I had to place the straps above her shoulders just to be able to get it loose enough to buckle. Needless to say, we didn't use the car seat aside from snapping this picture:
I did love the stroller - it is simple to use, folds and unfolds easy, is lightweight, and provides great shade. I wasn't impressed with the car seat, but it would be great for newborns.
Edit/Update: After posting this review, I spent more time looking over the manual. There is a setting with the straps that allowed for more "give" that I had overlooked when initially reviewing. I noticed many readers had emailed about that, so I figured I needed to let you all know that I did figure it out - just not until a few days later. My daughter fit much more comfortably in the car seat after the adjustments, and I was able to set the straps to sit below/behind her shoulder level. We used it for a couple months, and then upgraded to a different seat.
