Thanks to Tomoson, I was introduced to a "cookbook" that is replacing all other cookbooks in my house. The Cook'n Recipe Organizer is a program that organizes all of your recipes for you, right on your computer. But it's so much more than that! This thing is a time-saver, money-saver, and health-saver.
When you open the program, you can select the cookbook that you want to use in the left-hand menu. It will bring up a menu from the cookbook where you can choose your selection, or just browse through.
Once you select a particular recipe that you want to try, you have the option of gathering a grocery list for that recipe. How nifty is that?? That isn't all though: The Cook'n Recipe Organizer does more than just list the ingredients to buy at the grocery store, it also tells you what brand would be the best buy, and how much it would cost!
Not sold yet? This thing even shows you the nutritional values of the recipes you've selected. Check this out:
Yeah, I love this program. I've been using it to plan my family's meals for a couple of weeks now, and it has made life so much easier. Not only am I able to print my shopping list straight from the program, but I can make adjustments to the recipes for how many servings I want to make. Cook'n also calculates the approximate cost of your shopping list. It automatically combines the food on your menus and makes a grocery shopping list. It even converts tablespoons of tomato paste to 8 oz. cans!
I love that you can also capture recipes from websites and store them, as well as entering in your own recipes. I'm always hunting for something delicious on Pinterest and my favorite blogs - now I can save those recipes right on my desktop! As a matter of fact, Cook'n will automatically import all of your Pinterest recipes with one click and synchronize the two so any new recipes that you Pin will automatically appear in Cook'n! It's not magic... but it's pretty close to it!
I did find the whole layout to be a little boring, almost like an early 90's program with it's square boxes and dull colors - but that is more of a visual thing on my part. I like things to be pretty, and while the Cook'n Recipe Organizer is extremely functional, it isn't very stylish.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
