When to introduce finger foods:
Between 8-9 months, a baby will begin to show interest in feeding themselves by grabbing the spoon or trying to snatch food off of your plate.
How to introduce finger foods:
Spread four or five pieces of finger food onto baby's highchair tray. At first, baby may attempt to pick the pieces up by scraping them into the palm of his/her hand, but eventually (s)he will figure out the pincer grasp and pick the pieces up with their thumb and forefinger.

ReplyDeleteHi, what a great post I will certainly share it with my daughter in law, who has a little girl one year old. Great post and must be wonderful having someone to look after.
ReplyDeleteYou certainly have a clue ;)
My baby is a little older (18 months), but those recipes sound good even for his age! And my 3 year old! Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteMy 3 year old loves the apples and chicken recipe! It's not too bland like you would expect baby food to be, so making enough for all of us works out great - just add some broccoli or green beans and rice!
ReplyDeleteGreat lists! Love the recipes. The apples & chicken strips recipe sounds deelish - something my 2 and 5 year old with both appreciate.
ReplyDeleteThere's about 4 in that list I know my grandson loved to have. He still likes the cheerios just to munch on which is great so I would give him a bowl full when he wanted.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great list! I am always looking for ideas for my toddler (and I am expecting a baby girl in Feb.). The apples and chicken strips is definitely something I would make even for my 3 year old. Thanks!
