Mimi & Maggie Review: Clothing for Spirited Girls

You may have noticed from all of my pictures of Kaya that I love to dress her up in the cutest clothes I can find.  When Sammy was a baby, there wasn't nearly as many options for dressing him up; now I'm having a blast finding all the sweet ruffle-butts and frilly dresses for my baby girl.  So when I was approached by Mimi & Maggie to review some of their clothing, I jumped at the chance!

Mimi & Maggie's clothing is created for everyday use - soft, playful, and machine washable. Their clothing line includes jeans, tops, skirts, sweaters, coats and dresses.  I love that they strive to keep the “handmade” touch that adds individuality to each garment; their designs maintain the originality and uniqueness of handmade clothing while giving you high quality materials and sustainability.

Their inspiration comes from "...the little girl with laughter in her eyes, fire in her spirit, love in her heart and dance in her feet... individuality of children and their art... free spirits, joy of discovery and happiness in the simple pleasures of life."

Mimi & Maggie's designs are inspired by local and traditional crafts from the different cultures of the world. "From the metropolitan Chinatowns to the spiritual quiet of the Himalayas, we have searched out craftsmen and techniques that have been handed down through the generations. We strive to blend the handicrafts of world cultures, incorporating the beauty and craftsmanship into modern day garments."

Their wish?

"...to offer clothing that appeals to the child and adult alike, by offering colorful, unique and quality oriented clothing that has a touch of the “culture” that has inspired it. Perhaps, there will be a better appreciation of all the different types of beauty that coexist in the world today. Childhood is a precious time to be CELEBRATED .... everyday!"

Their motto is: Clothing for Spirited Girls - and you can see why!  The originality of the designs have a down-to-earth feel, almost vintage style.  Everywhere that Lexi and Kaya have gone in these outfits, they have gotten compliments left and right.  I love the Bohemian feel to these clothes!   I dropped Kaya off at daycare in the New Sprout dress and everyone ooohed and ahhhed at her - she was the center of attention all day.

What I like best about Mimi & Maggie clothing is not the adorable patterns (that are so my style, I would wear them if they made my size!) but the practicality.  Take the infant dresses for instance.  There are no buttons or zippers, which I was worried about at first.  Instead, the material is super soft and stretchy, allowing me to pull them over Kaya's head without a battle.  The clothes are all machine washable, another huge plus for me because, honestly - who has time to go to the dry-cleaner?

Their sizes range from 6 months to 12 years, covering the most precious times in a girl's life, and I'm pretty sure that I will be buying Mimi & Maggie for as long as I can!

Right now, Mimi & Maggie clothes are available only at select retailers.  You can use their store finder to see if there is a store nearby selling these awesome girls' clothes!  You can also find them on Amazon!

To celebrate the opening of their online store, Mimi & Maggie are offering a giveaway for $150 worth of their beautiful girls' clothing.  Be sure to stay tuned, as this will be happening here on Momma Without a Clue starting November 18th!
