Mother to Mother: A Rockin' Baby Sling Review

It isn't often that you come across a company that makes great products AND gives back to the world.  Recently I was given the opportunity to work with a company that does just that, Rockin' Baby.  Not only do they make beautiful slings and pouches, but they also have a mission.

Did you know that Haiti currently has the highest infant mortality rate in the Western Hemisphere?  Infant mortality refers to the death of a child before their first birth day; In 2010, Haiti had 250 infant deaths per 1000 births.  Rockin' Baby's Mother to Mother mission is to help educate mommas in Haiti on the importance of keeping their babies close, and teaches them how to use babywearing as a way to help prevent infant deaths.

For every sling sold, Rockin' Baby will donate another to a woman in Haiti.  The Orange Hero Sling is the sling donated to Haitian women so that for every documentary Haiti is featured in, for every time they are on the news, and a woman walks by wearing a baby in an orange sling - you will know how you helped that woman.




For the review, I received their Orange Hero Sling - the same sling that the mothers in Haiti are given.

I have never used a sling before, but I have to say - the design is amazing.  The rings are sturdy, and unlike the sling I tried (and failed) to make, they are sewn and reinforced into the sling itself.  At the end of the sling, there is a handy dandy pocket, perfect for carrying my wallet or Kaya's pacifier.

Kaya loves for me to hold her close, and I like that I can still use my arms when wearing the sling.

I love how the red rings stand out against the gorgeous orange fabric.  Everywhere we go with this sling, we have people stopping us to ask where we got it.  And I am proud to say, Rockin' Baby!
