Babies grow. Fast. And baby clothes? Expensive! I fully recommend shopping at thrift stores and yard sales for the staple items - because babies grow so fast, most items are gently used, most items only being worn once or twice before they're outgrown. But you definitely want a couple of "going out" outfits for baby, and those are better new.
So where do I shop for cheap baby clothes, or at least really good discounted baby clothes? I've compiled a list of the best websites I've found:
1. Zulily
How it works: Zulily has adorable boutique clothes for babies, toddlers, and bigger kids (along with awesome stuff for moms and the home!) They separate the deals into 'events' which usually last a couple of days. They take in all the orders for the event and submit them all at once as one big order to get their discounts. The items are then shipped from the store to Zulily headquarters in one big box. Zulily separates the orders and ships them out. It usually takes 2-3 weeks to get your items. Definitely worth the wait though, since most of the things featured on their site are discounted 50-75%.
The Best Part? Zulily has AMAZING customer service. I ordered a pair of maternity jeans when I was pregnant with Kaya. I wear a small, their small was huge on me! Not Zulily's fault, the company they ordered from ran bigger and I didn't pay close enough attention to the size chart. I called to see if I could exchange them and found out they aren't able to do exchanges. Instead, they gave me credit for the full amount I paid on the pants and told me to keep them or give them to someone else. The lady I talked to was so nice and helpful!
2. keekoo
keekoo.com is a unique and amazing online store specializing in everything that moms and moms-to-be need –all at up to 90% off! Membership to keekoo.com is by referral or invitation only. Membership is free and can be requested by clicking here: Sign Up.
How it works: Just like Zulily, keekoo has events that last 24-72 hours where everyone places their orders. After the event ends, one big order is placed to the seller and shipped to keekoo headquarters where the orders are separated and shipped to the customers.
The Best Part? When you sign up, you automatically get $10 off your first purchase!
3. GILT
Gilt is a new site that I found a few weeks ago. They have amazingly cute baby clothes, accessories, gear... you name it! I found an adorable designer dress: C de C by Cordelia de Castellane, Elle Baby Dress Set for $60, discounted to $32! Most of the things on this site are designer, but with Gilt you get up to 50% off!
The Best Part? Gilt also has stuff for men, women, and the home!
For great "like-new" clothes, I love thredUP - for joining they give you $10 off your first order so I was able to buy two pairs of jeans and two adorable tops (for myself) for only $12. Got them in the mail yesterday and they might as well still have tags on them they are in such good shape. Ordering some baby clothes from them next and if I'm as satisfied as I was with my outfits, I'll write a whole blog post on used clothes stores online.
Happy Shopping!!
